What a Year!
In a year scarred by corporate scandals, terrorism
in Bali and the Middle East, fears of war with Iraq,
sex scandals in the church, rising oil and gold prices,
North Korea threats, Venezuela crises, and another
year of the bear, 2002 will be hard to forget as the
year to be forgotten.
Still, even as the NASDAQ got rocked by a 32 percent
fall, the Dow fell 16 percent, the S&P 500 succumbed
to a 23 percent drop, and the Russell 2000 plummeted
23 percent, Taipan’s Christian DeHaemer and Ian L.
Cooper raked in an average gain of 38 percent on the
year.
Some of our biggest winners of 2002: 23% on SPP, 34%
on SASOY, 22% on ABY, 20% on EK, 21% on SAB.L, 46%
on ITRU, 35% on TLK, 82% on LU, 131% on NT, 156% on
AKAM, 125% on CIEN, 49% on TMCS, 52% on WINK, and 35%
