Keep
an Eye on VLGC and CPS
ViroLogic (VLGC:NASDAQ) still remains a buy. It has been 58 days since
the unlock date, with an average daily volume of 55,681
shares. That equals 3.2 million shares that are now
in new hands. If you assume that half of the 19 million
shares held by insiders will be sold, it will take an
additional two days for the additional float to be absorbed,
following our two-month model.
Were also keeping an eye on Capstone (CPST:NASDAQ).
On Christmas day, its lockup period expired and 22.4
million additional shares flooded the market. Were
now expecting this stock to plummet as the market absorbs
the additional shares. Plan to unload before the first
of January. It may become cheap enough that we can buy
it on an upswing.
FTC Gives VLNC the Green Light
The FTC has granted Valence Technology (VLNC:NASDAQ)
early termination of the waiting period for VLNCs
acquisition of Telcordia's Bellcore lithium-ion polymer
battery intellectual property rights courtesy
of the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act.
This newest acquisition will enable them to become the
leading licensor of lithium-ion polymer technology worldwide.
In November, the company announced an agreement to
acquire all rights to lithium-ion polymer battery technology
from Telcordia Technologies for 3 million newly issued
shares of Valence stock.
