DVS on Hold

By Ian L. Cooper

We still recommend holding your position in Diversified Security Solutions (DVS:AMEX). Earlier this month, the company reported that sales for the first three months of 2005 shot up 52% or US$2.9 million to US$8.6 million, up from US$5.66 million a year earlier. Net income came in at one cent per share compared to the two-cent loss posted last year.

Projected full-year 2005 sales are between US$36 million and US$40 million with an operating margin of 5%. Net income is expected to come in between US$1 million and US$1.2 million, or 17 cents to 21 cents per share. Not too shabby.

Even better, its subsidiary, Henry Bros. Electronics, was just awarded a contract to create and install security for Parsons buildings throughout the US. Parsons is a leader in construction management and technical solutions and operates in markets worldwide.

Seeing no reason to sell DVS at this time, we’re recommending that you hold.
