Cooper If there's one thing you should take away from your stock market learning experience, it's to ignore the brokerage houses. Time and time again we've pulled in massive profits by doing the opposite of brokerage house recommendations. On Monday, for example, our NETE play, recommended just nine months ago at US$3.21, posted a Q3 profit as revenue grew amid new customer sales and increased demand for identity management. In fact, NETE posted a profit of US$659,000, or two cents per share, compared to the sloppy US$66.2 million or US$1.94 per share loss recorded one year ago. Revenue shot up to US$20.4 million from US$15.2 million. The company even said it expects revenue to grow another 8% in Q4 with an increase on licensing, and net income to come in around 15 cents per share. That's great news. But it was followed by a downgrade from Merriman Curhan Ford, which slapped the stock from Buy to Neutral. To us, this means nothing. With a massive nine-month gain of 269% on tap, we're ignoring it. In fact, we're still holding NETE for the long term. As it races by US$11, we're not changing our bullish stance. Congratulations on the gain.
