Cooper In early January 2003, we recommended that you put funds into five of the “Dogs of the Dow”: SBC, HON, EK, JPM, and MO. Today, we're ready to sell and take profits off the table. Sell these now: Altria (MO:NYSE) 3-Jan-03 $39.52 $45.03 14% JP Morgan (JPM:NYSE) 3-Jan-03 $25.20 $34.82 38% Eastman Kodak (EK:NYSE) 3-Jan-03 $36.58 $29.81 -19% SBC Communications (SBC:NYSE) 3-Jan-03 $28.51 $23.31 -18% Honeywell International (HON:NYSE) 3-Jan-03 $24.50 $30.01 22% The biggest winner is our Altria Group play, which rose 11% on news that the Illinois Supreme Court has reinstated a reduced appeals bond in the US$10.1 billion Price/Miles case. This should remove any concerns of MO having to file for bankruptcy. Congratulations on your gains. We are continuing to hold on to Christian DeHaemer's Lexar Media (LEXR:NASDAQ) and Netegrity (NETE:NASDAQ) positions. We sold our first half of Lexar on July 30 for 100% gains and decided to hold the second half for a bit longer. That second-half free ride is now up some 212% and remains a long-term hold. LEXR has moved up nicely after news surfaced that it has developed the first ExpressCard flash memory engineering samples. As for Netegrity, after selling our first half on August 29 for 204% gains, we decided to hold the second half for another free second-half run. NETE is also a long-term hold.
