Average
20.6% Gain
By Ian L.
Cooper
Since January 1, Christian DeHaemer’s and Ian L. Cooper’s
Taipan portfolio is up an average 20.64%, even
as the NASDAQ plunged 37% and the Dow fell 13%. Not
bad, considering we’re still in a bear market.
According to DeHaemer, “The Dow has risen to the top
of its trendline. If you look at a one-month candlestick
chart, you will see what I like to call a flag pattern.
Yesterday’s candlestick looks like a flag or a cross.
It is reminiscent of a man climbing a mountain. The
man walks up the mountain, looks around, plants a flag
and goes back down.” He adds, “These are always bearish
chart patterns, and the fact that it is forming against
the top trendline gives the bearishness added weight.”
Continue holding the following: EWJ, GNK,
DG, and NDN. Put in a mental stop loss
of US$6.75 on EWJ.
For now,
continue holding NDN and DG.
