Cipla Results Out Today

By Ian L. Cooper

Cipla is currently trading at 1,063 rupees, giving us a respectable 25 percent gain. It is also expected to report earnings for the most recent quarter today, July 26. Check back on Friday for an in-depth look at the most recent numbers. Continue to hold.

For the fourth time in the past nine months, the company has cut the prices of its anti-AIDS cocktail drugs, this time by as much as 39 percent. The drug combo, which has the potential to reduce the HIV virus in the body to very low levels, will now cost 2,130 rupees a month, down significantly from the previous 3,495 rupees.

Congratulations to you if you got into our American National Financial, Inc. (ANFI:NASDAQ) recommendation. You’re currently up 75 percent, not including the dividend that was just paid last Tuesday! Not a bad return in less than four months.

We saw ANFI hit a new 52-week high of US$8.20. The best part was that it was made in a down market. I wonder if it’s just the addition of four new branches by its subsidiary, American Title Company, that is driving the stock price up? My hunch tells me that there is something brewing. Continue to hold ANFI for more returns.
